The Need Is More Urgent Than Ever
Last Ramadan, your generosity was a lifeline.
Because of you, 8,000 meals were delivered through 800 food parcels - reaching struggling mothers, widows, girls, and orphans across Afghanistan. Empty kitchens were filled, and families broke their fast with dignity instead of hunger.
But today… the situation has worsened.
The USD has depreciated significantly since we first received funds. Where $1 once equaled 75 Afghanis, it now exchanges at just 62 - reducing the purchasing power of every donation.
At the same time, food prices have surged.
Border closures - including Torkham between Afghanistan and Pakistan and the Salang route connecting Central and Northern regions - have disrupted supply chains, creating severe shortages and driving costs even higher.
What does this mean in human terms?
It means the same funds that once fed many families may now reach only a limited number of households.
It means more mothers telling their children to sleep through hunger.
The need is no longer great - it is critical.
This Ramadan, we must do more.
